Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Achieving Sustainable Value, what do you mean with that?
A: Companies may have a storm on their radar, nearby or still far away. There are many reasons, like too much product oriented. Many companies are still working like 20-25 years ago. Most executives were trained in those days and gained their experience in a far less hostile environment. This leads to pressure on the company value; it is not sustainable anymore.
Q: Are you a consulting company?
A: We are not a consulting company. We are a Swiss partnership of senior managers working in Europe or globally. Instead of consulting projects we run company engagements. We do not make recommendations; we execute and put in place whatever it takes to achieve sustainable value.
Q: Who are your clients?
A: Lenders, mainly banks, investors or companies that have a project that needs improvement. This also includes companies where the founder or founding family wants to exit. Traditionally those companies are put for sale. Under the current circumstances that does not lead to the desired results. Further we are retained by law firms in cases of liquidations and bankruptcy filings.
Q: You are strong in the SME sector, especially regarding succession problems, tell me more.
A: As said above traditionally those companies are put for sale but today that is not enough anymore seen the large amount of companies that are for sale. We prepare those companies for the moment of sale, typically the operational exit of the founder. It results in a higher exit value.
Q: Do the partners sell the engagements and then junior people will come and do the job?
A: No, we do not engage junior people. Our senior managers acquire engagements and execute these engagements.
Q: Are you able to work in any industry?
A: Actually yes, but we work mainly in the sectors where demand for our intervention is high. The problems that we have encountered over the years are almost the same in all the industries. In addition do not forget we work closely with the people in the company. Their industry specific knowledge and our problems solving knowledge are complementary.
Q: If we hire interim managers we pay a very high fee per day. What about your fee structure?
A: Our fees are 100% result oriented. We believe in our skills and methodologies, we align our business with your business.
Q: What is your secret of achieving sustainable value?
A: We believe in people. We do not believe in simple cost cutting by laying off people. Your people are your assets and a downsized company normally cannot fly that high anymore. It only gives short term profit. We use our own trademarked management methodology to deal with this issue, called Performant.
