Paul has a background in Computing Science and Business Administration. As a serial entrepreneur and recovery specialist in ICT and Biotechnology Paul has started and grown, or restructured many companies.
He has a broad understanding of the various aspects of running a business, and he is able to quickly identify both strengths and weaknesses in small and medium-sized enterprises. Paul’s corporate finance experience and vast European investor network helps him a great deal in securing financing for growing businesses.
Starting his career in ICT business consultancy, Paul and two colleagues soon started the European operations for an American ICT company.
After the IPO and continuing growth across Europe, Paul left to start investing in small ICT businesses, helping them grow as an executive manager through restructuring or refocusing marketing and sales.
After the burst of the internet bubble in the beginning of the millennium Paul assisted venture capitalists in examining portfolios (invest/divest decisions).
The fast-growing biotech niche was his next challenge. With a team of biotech specialists he started the first independent biotech research boutique in Europe, only to sell it a few years later to the securities division of a bank.
The corporate finance and sales activities from then on have enabled him to create a vast European network of investors (ranging from family offices to institutional investors). Paul is also part time professor and teaches Management Decision Making in the MBA programs of the Avans Plus institute in the Netherlands. Paul holds an MSc in Computing Science (Business Administration specialisation) from the Eindhoven University of Technology.
